Many thanks to the Officers and Committee for the kind invitation to judge the Memorial Special classes in memory of Jane O’Shea. It was held in conjunction with the East Anglia Border Terrier Championship Show of which she had been Vice Chairman. It was a privilege and honor to do so. A thank you also must go to my most capable stewards for their assistance on the day.
Special Award Junior Dog or Bitch ( 3, 0 )
1st. Jones, Miles and Lowe’s Rockslade Russian Roulette A very pleasing grizzle and tan bitch of 14 months. Owns a very nice head of correct proportions with dark eye and well placed ear. Correct scissor bite with big teeth. Moderate length of neck with correct shoulder placement, a lovely straight front on neat well padded feet. Enough rear angulation. Shown today in a decent jacket. Moved out well, keeping her topline and showing both reach and drive. Shows much promise.
2nd. Adams and Maskell’s Fisherbloom Singin’ Hinnie. Another nice grizzle bitch nearing II months. Today not quite together as my eventual winner of the class but lots to like. She looked balanced on the table and has a head of good proportions, dark eye and correct dentition. Reasonably straight front and is well ribbed back. Correct tailset. Lacking coat today but coats do come and go !. Moved well once settled.
3rd. Allison’s McBeety Captain Courageous.

1st. Barrett,s Howthwaite in Voice. A lovely grizzle and tan dog who excels in such sound movement. So very typical and unexaggerated. Possesses a nice head with a keen dark eye, strong muzzle and good scissor bite. Correct shoulder placement. Owns the straightest of fronts with neat well padded feet. Spanned easily and has a good loose pelt. He has a well bent stifle and carroty tail, correctly set. Moved effortlessly with great reach and drive. Handled to advantage.
2nd. Hall’s Otterwood Aura. Such a lovely head on this young blue and tan bitch. Has a moderately broad skull with a lovely dark eye and super expression. Correct dentition. Good reach of neck and strong in loin. I found her easily spannable with a good level topline and well set tail. Moved out well holding her topline. Just preferring the front on my 1st placing today.
